[9-HI™ Advanced Concepts] 9-HI™ Project Types & Themes
As mentioned previously, there are three (3) types of Projects for either Technology Selection/Procurement, Technology Development or Innovation Exploration. 9-HI™ offers a wide variety of options to conduct these types of Projects in a number of different configurations and structures. 9-HI™ allows you to build an Internal or External Project.
Internal Projects are intended to only use Personnel from within the Group that owns the Project while External Projects also include Personnel outside of the Host Group. Internal Projects are used when a Group wants to run a Project strictly using its own membership typically due to confidentiality such as when there is a need to keep Intellectual Property (IP) tightly held or when all Evaluators need to be from the Host Group to avoid organizational conflicts of interest or perception of biased Evaluators. An External Group may be established when types of expertise are needed that are not available from within the Host Group. The leadership of a Project may also only want proposals for selection from within their Group say to evaluate potential internally developed technologies. An Internal Project may also be faster to implement as it draws from known individuals in their Group that have already completed Confidentiality Agreements and Group operating rules of conduct. External SMEs may need to take more time to complete or negotiate these Group requirements.
Project examples:
- A Company, Government Organization, or University Group may run an internal Development Project with no outside participation. Or they may decide to query members of their Group to challenge for new concepts and ideas by requesting for internal proposals or pitches.
- A Company, Government Organization, or University Group may seek Internal Improvements to its Team Personnel, Processes and/or Finances and it may engage its own group for proposals or seek proposals from outside SMEs or Groups to make proposals.
- A Company, Government Organization, or University Group may desire to respond to a published RFI, RFP or Pitch Event, or publish their own to their existing supply base or find new suppliers.
- A Company, Government Organization, or University Group may desire to seek investments or make investments either for non-dilutive purposes or for equity positions.
- Consortia or other Multi-Organization Groups can drive technology development among its members in a highly organized manner for improved technology advancement, better feedback to its member companies/organizations, and better usage of invested funds.
- Common interest Groups can be formed (Innovation Exploration Group) by any SME with a passion for technology, team or application advancement. Knowledge leaders can promote new initiatives whether they have decades of experience or are still in school.
