[9-HI™ Advanced Concepts] 9-HI™ as a Marketplace
Identifying, Engaging, and Paying SMEs to Supplement Your Team
As 9-HI™ evolves, it will be building in capabilities to engage external Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) by paying them directly through the 9-HI™ Platform based on advertised and negotiated rates, terms, and guidelines if there is not already an employee-employer relationship. Convenience and speed to tap a technically savvy network of experts is a core competency built into many aspects of 9-HI™.
9-HI™ can easily be used to manage Projects by Personnel that are internal to a Group (employees, members, etc.), to support this, 9-HI™ enables you to quickly and efficiently locate and engage with SMEs external to your group (company, university, or government organization). This is done at a Topic level by reviewing potential candidates in a search including their Skills, Ratings, Interests, and availability. After determining your short list, you can budget their time based on their expected rates and invite them to join your Project as an External SME advisor. Once you have interested SME candidates, you need to have them sign any required documents such as service agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, non-conflict or Intellectual Property (IP) agreements, etc. You need to use all of the same good practices you would use whenever signing up a 1099 consultant or other consulting arrangement. As the costing function is built into 9-HI™, your costs and tax forms will be conveniently tracked within the Platform so you can focus on accomplishing your goals with your SME Team.
Engaging “Thought Leader” types of SMEs is of great advantage to the Project leadership and to the SME as it avoids full-time employment investments by leadership and allows the SME additional income to supplement any traditional work they might have. SMEs just need to make sure they don’t have an Organizational Conflict of Interest (OCI) and that they do not share confidential information from past or present employers. Project Leaders need to make sure they are protecting any of the Group’s IP.
Other Networking Opportunities
9-HI™ does not only have to be used in a “for-hire” relationship though. Personnel are welcome to work "gratis" either to start off a relationship or to further a cause that is not yet well funded. These options allow our Platform to serve a global social network of like-minded individuals to connect and collaborate on Topics that interest them or that may help them further their career and skill capabilities, as well as to advance the technology in either a public or private setting.
9-HI™ allows SME users to supplement their income by dedicating as much time as they want to offer to Projects that are meaningful and rewarding to them.
9-HI™ is an amazing source of vetted information that can be used to improve existing businesses or create new startups that can change the world.
9-HI™ for Organizational Improvements
The 9-HI™ marketplace establishes an ability for organizations and SMEs (Supply & Demand capability) to identify and develop improvements, not just for technology development, but for any of the three (3) Tier 1 Lanes (Product Technology, Team & Stakeholders, Market Application). This type of Project is intended for organizations that would like to quantitatively measure and assess their own organization to better align itself with either the Technologies or the Market Applications that it is considering for future growth.
9-HI™ provides tools for targeted improvement of an organization after its identified areas of improvement needed for successful Project outcome. If you are concerned about the recent or expected performance of your organization's employees or members, 9-HI™ can be utilized to identify lacking skillsets and capabilities for additional training, hiring, or part time SME needs. This can help you strengthen your organization, improve your processes, and drive your organization to higher performance and success levels. These focused improvement Projects can address organizational issues or weaknesses that have been identified with low scores in any given Technology Selection, Development, or Deployment Projects.
