[9-HI™ Dictionary] Technology Readiness Level (TRL)

A method for estimating the maturity of technologies during the acquisition phase of a program, developed at NASA during the 1970s. The use of Technology Readiness Levels enables consistent, uniform discussions of technical maturity across different types of technology. 9-HI™ uses the Air Force standard definitions for TRLs adapted for 9-HI™ use.
